The short version
Just Frame collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code in the app. It reads photos from your library in order to display them on your own screen, and that is all it does with them. Nothing you see in Just Frame is sent to me, and I have no way to see your photos, your library, or how you use the app.
What Just Frame reads
Your photos
With your permission, Just Frame reads images from your photo library so it can display them full screen. It reads only. It never edits, moves, deletes, uploads, or shares a photo. If you grant limited access, it can only see the photos you selected.
The date and location saved inside each photo
Each photo may carry the date it was taken and the GPS coordinates of where it was taken. Just Frame reads these from the photo itself in order to show the date and a place name along the bottom of the image. Photos without this information simply have those lines left out.
The names of your albums
So the settings screen can offer a list to pick from, Just Frame reads the names and photo counts of your albums. The list stays on your device.
The two things that leave your device
Just Frame has no server. I do not operate any service it talks to, and it makes no network requests of its own. There are exactly two cases where data leaves your device, and in both of them it goes to Apple, not to me.
Turning coordinates into a place name
To display “Leland, Michigan” instead of a pair of numbers, Just Frame asks Apple’s geocoding service what is at a photo’s coordinates. That request sends the photo’s coordinates to Apple. It does not send the photo, and it does not identify you to me. Results are kept in memory while the app runs, grouped by coordinates rounded to roughly a kilometre, so photos taken in the same place are looked up once rather than repeatedly. That cache is discarded when the app closes. Apple’s handling of these requests is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Downloading your own photos from iCloud
If a photo lives in iCloud and is not currently stored on the device, Just Frame allows iOS to download it so the photo is shown rather than skipped. This is a transfer between your device and your own iCloud account, handled entirely by iOS. Nothing is uploaded, and I am not part of it.
What is stored on your device
Just Frame saves your own settings so it remembers them next time: which album you picked, that album’s name, whether the display schedule is on, its start and end times, how long each photo stays on screen, and whether you have already seen the one-time settings hint. That is the entire list. It is stored in the app’s own storage on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is removed when you delete the app.

- No access to contacts, calendars, microphone, or camera
- No uploading of photos anywhere
- No selling or sharing of data, because none is collected
Your controls
Photo access
You can change or revoke Just Frame’s access to your photos at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Just Frame, then Photos. Choosing limited access lets you decide exactly which photos it can see. Revoking access stops the slideshow; nothing else about your library changes.
Place names
If you would rather no coordinates were ever looked up, use an album of photos that carry no location data. Photos taken with location services off, screenshots, and most images saved from the web have no coordinates.
Removing everything
Deleting the app removes its settings from your device. There is nothing held anywhere else to delete, and no account to close.
Children
Just Frame is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly edited in.
